About me
I have taught Langauge Arts at Rincon Valley Middle School for 24 years. I came to the realization that not all students like to read! So I created an original elective course for our middle school for struggling readers who could learn language arts skills through film. It started out as 1 section of Film & Literature Connections and today has grown to 4 sections that include Video Techniques & Productions, and Advanced Television Production. My students and I produce a quarterly television show, RVTV, that we post on our class website, as well as manage our school Facebook page. In 2013 I won the Educator of the Year for Rincon Valley Middle School. In the past I have served as the English department chair for 5 years and I currently serve as the Elective Department chair. ***On a more personal note, I have a serious Starbucks addiction, but refuse all intervention. I love film and sneak off the the movies as often as possible!
